OUR STANDARDClear about what we know, where changing facts come from, what an online estimate cannot prove, and HEY Solar's role in the enquiry journey.
One engine, two levels of detail
Simple mode asks for information most people are likely to know and fills the remaining model with visible default assumptions. Advanced options expose those assumptions so knowledgeable users can refine the same calculation.
Solar & payback tools
These model indicative generation and value using inputs such as system size, yield, self-consumption, import value, export value and project cost. Actual performance depends on the property, weather, shading, equipment, losses and consumption pattern.
Battery & EV tools
Battery estimates use consumption, usable capacity and efficiency assumptions; EV estimates use mileage, vehicle efficiency, charging losses and tariff assumptions. They are planning aids, not guarantees of savings or product suitability.
Commercial ROI
The commercial tool uses generation, self-consumption, electricity values, project cost and operating assumptions to illustrate simple payback. A serious business case should use site data — ideally including half-hourly consumption — and consider finance, degradation, lifecycle costs and other relevant investment metrics.
