Common sources of shade
Trees, neighbouring buildings, chimneys, dormers, aerials and other roof features can cast changing shadows across an array.
Shade can reduce solar generation, but the impact depends on when, where and how much of the array is shaded. A proper design should model significant shading rather than treating it as a simple yes/no question.

Trees, neighbouring buildings, chimneys, dormers, aerials and other roof features can cast changing shadows across an array.
Morning shade on an east-facing section and midday shade on a south-facing section do not have identical effects. Seasonal sun angles also change the pattern.
Array layout, string design, optimisers or microinverters may help in some situations, but extra electronics are not automatically beneficial on an unshaded roof.
If shading is material, ask how it has been allowed for in the generation estimate and proposal.
HEY Solar keeps technical and financial claims tied to the assumptions that make them true. Guidance is reviewed against authoritative UK sources and property-specific decisions belong in a survey and design.
